Even though almost all major bookmakers allow betting on volleyball, beginners do not like to bet on this sport. From their point of view, it has several major disadvantages:

  • Lack of entertainment.
  • A small number of broadcasts, when compared, for example, with football (for more information about TV broadcasts, see Telecomasia.net).
  • Weak commercialisation.

Game Rules

Volleyball is a team sport. Six athletes play on the court, and the same number remain on the bench. Each volleyball player has a role to play.

The match consists of three sets. Each team must score 25 points to win. There is no draw, so if in one of the sets the opponents score the same number of points or the difference is 1 point, the game will continue until the difference reaches 2 points.

This is exactly the gap that volleyball betting professionals use to make an accurate prediction for the match.

How to bet correctly on volleyball

As we have already said, there can be no draw result, and therefore you can make quite interesting bets.

You need to develop your own strategy, and for this, you should carefully study the volleyball lines offered by the bookmakers. The maximum odds are offered for the exact total of each set. It is very difficult to determine this figure, so the risk of losing is quite high. But if you win, you can multiply the bank.

To be successful in betting on volleyball, you need to focus on a few basic points:

  1. Carefully study the statistics of past matches. When analysing, note game features, lineups, and key points.
  2. Studying open information about the current condition of volleyball players, possible injuries and substitutions in the team. The substitution of even one player affects the outcome of the entire match.
  3. Knowledge of the relationship between teammates, the importance of the tournament and a specific match, and other features.

Professionals find it quite easy to see who will win a particular volleyball match. As an example, consider the match between South Korea and Mongolia, which took place in the qualifying round of the East Asian Women’s Championships in July 2016.

The Mongolian team is a strong mid-table side. Korea is a multiple participant in international championships. But Mongolia performed well in the game against China, so there won’t be much of a difference in points.

The teams are in their best shape for the game, with no injuries. The game decides virtually nothing.

The odds for the victory of the Koreans were 1.90. It is expected that they won in all three sets. It is also expected that the big difference in points (13:25) was only in the third game.

If you know all the nuances and features, volleyball bets will work for you no worse than football bets and bring the same profit. In some cases, it is possible to develop more reliable strategies than in football and earn large sums.

However, if you are not a fan of this sport, have never watched volleyball matches and are not familiar with the basic rules, you will not be able to create a competent strategy. It’s always best to bet on sports that you really understand.
