Australian movies for a perfect date

Dinner and a movie. It’s the standard date that never fails despite some people denigrating the idea.

Still, it is a beloved romantic institution that is often implemented during courtship. According to this site, movies have always been and remain great dating ideas. That is why we are going to show you five Australian films that you can use when you have a date.

  • Mad Max is a Classic

The first film that you’ll want to watch with your partner is called Mad Max. For the uninitiated, the basis of the film is that the future world is a wasteland that is rapidly running out of resources. In this dreadful place, we meet Max, a member of Australia’s Main Force Patrol (MFP), trying to keep the peace in Australia. This film is not exactly easy to view, but it is an action classic that people will enjoy if they like the action-thriller genre. You can always follow this up with the other films in the series, too.

  • Crocodile Dundee Gave Australia an Icon

Although it is terribly stereotypical in many ways, Crocodile Dundee deserves a place on this list, especially if you are dating an American. That way, you can explain the context of the film as a way to increase notice of Australia and tourism to the country instead of an accurate rendition of how Aussies act in society. As much as the film helped the country get more people coming on vacation, it also made foreigners consider the country in a somewhat unhelpful light.

  • Happy Feet for a Sweet, Loving Experience

If you are just trying to impress your date and make them feel happy and comfortable, then Happy Feet is for you. This film is animated and uses the voices of some of the most famous actors of the time to bring the penguins to life. The entire premise of the story is that Mumble, a penguin, must learn how to perform a mating song to attract a date. Unfortunately, Mumble can’t sing, so he uses dancing to get attention. The story is sweet and light, perfect for a first date.

  • The Great Gatsby is a Spectacle That Captures the Story

Although the story is American, the Great Gatsby is a joint effort with Australians that resulted in a fantastic film being developed. For those who don’t know the story, it’s about a man named Nick Carraway as he meets a very private, desperate man named Jay Gatsby as he tries to win the love of a woman. This story is tragic in many ways, so it might not be something you want to watch on the first date. Nevertheless, it is a great film that has many talented actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.

  • Ammonite Seeks to Unearth the Truth

Ammonite tells the story of Mary Anning, a paleontologist that helped unearth Jurassic-era fossils throughout England during the 19th century. She struggled a great deal because she was a woman in a man’s profession. However, the film tends to focus more on her supposed relationship with Charlotte Murchison, a geologist. The film speculates a lot, perhaps too much, but the acting is great, and the potential of the film to show a hidden romance can be great for some couples to watch on a date.

Finding the right film to watch on a date is tough, but these are all great choices. Whether you want something that is action-packed or a film that could make you shed a few tears, these options have what you need. Of course, plenty of other films could give you a great result, too, so continue to expand your knowledge of films to have some on hand for your romantic escapades.
